Our July General Contractor in the Spotlight is J.E. Green Company.  Founded by James E. Green in 1944, it existed under the company name of James E. Green, General Contractor, for approximately 9 years. In 1953 the name was changed to J.E. Green Company and was incorporated in the state of Tennessee. Members of the Green family have held active roles in the company since its founding.  J.E. Green Company currently holds unlimited building contractor's licenses in Tennessee, Virginia, and North Carolina. The company also has completed projects in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky and Georgia. J.E. Green Company is noted for the construction of many of the area's signature buildings that include Emory and Henry College Chapel, King College Campus, Eastman Employee Center, Tri City Airport Terminal Building, SunTrust Bank (now Truist) Texas Instruments Manufacturing Complex (now Boria), South Side School, Unicoi County High School, Johnson County Health Center New Emergency & Outpatient Center, Mars Hill College Ferguson Math & Science Building, and numerous other projects.  J.E. Our July Supplier/Service Provider Spotlight is Water Quality & Erosion Control of Tennessee (WQEC).  Founded in 2002, it was developed into a full-service environmental consulting business by majority owner Jean Matthews, CPESC, CESSWI and was fundamentally involved in the development of the 2005 Tennessee Construction Storm Water General Permit and the 2007 Metro Nashville Stormwater ordinances. WQEC specializes in helping their clients understand how federal, state and local environmental regulations can affect their projects before, during, and after construction.
