Our August General Contractor Spotlight is Sylvan. Founded in 1956 in Pontiac, Michigan, Sylvan has grown from a small local operation into a trusted construction and services partner serving clients across North America. Sylvan provides advanced services from planning to execution and ongoing maintenance across a wide range of sectors. Its specialties include mechanical, electrical, piping, program management, and design-build services. Known for its ability to adapt to aggressive timelines, evolving project scopes, and complex site conditions, Sylvan is recognized for consistent quality, safety, and reliability. To date, Sylvan has completed work in 38 states and 2 countries, with experience across sectors such as government, energy, industrial and commercial facilities, automotive manufacturing, education, and data centers. With eight satellite offices, including a growing presence across Tennessee, Sylvan has supported several major industrial and infrastructure initiatives in the region. The company has established strong relationships with local trade partners, suppliers, and clients, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the area’s economic and industrial growth. A recent project includes Sylvan’s full-scope delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and General Trades services for ORNL’s 64,000 sq. ft. Stable Isotope Production and Research Center (SIPRC), designed to enhance the nation’s capacity to enrich stable isotopes for critical medical, industrial, research, and national security applications.
