The Construction Leadership Council (CLC) was established to fulfill the need to cultivate the next generation of leaders in the construction industry as well as the association both at the local and national levels. The purpose of the CLC is to act as a conduit for participants to network, exchange ideas about work and the industry, serve local communities and continuing education which includes both professional development and leadership skills.
Members of the AGC Construction Leadership Council enjoy many benefits of membership and participation. CLC is a forum that allows young professionals to develop their leadership, communication skills, and industry savvy while networking with a diverse group of individuals. Specifically, these opportunities include:
Construction Leadership Program & Education
The Construction Leadership Program was created in 2011 by Middle Tennessee construction executives and CLC board members. Its purpose is to educate young leaders on all of the facets of how a business works as well as provides leadership training and networking opportunities.
Since the first program in 2012, 120 leaders have graduated from the program. This program consists of 13 classes, every other Friday from January-June and graduation at the July AGC membership luncheon. Seats are limited, so early registration in encouraged. CLC membership affords AGC members a $100 discount on registration to the program.
The Construction Leadership Council is dedicated to furthering the education of the young leaders in Tennessee. CLC membership affords discounts on AGC educational programs, raises money to give an annual scholarship, and has a national professional development conference hosted by the AGC of America.
In 2019, the CLC and AGC of Middle Tennessee partnered with Dale Carnegie to offer top-of-the-line leadership classes at no additional cost to our membership. This is an incredible value add for members, especially CLC members. See calendar for class dates. Learn more about Dale Carnegie.

West TN's Young Constructor's Forum (YCF) holds an Annual Crawfish Boil to support a charity of their choice each year.
The annual Crawfish Boil is a chance for the members to network with one another, enjoy an afternoon outside, and to support a charity. In 2019, the event supported Olivia Mellen and her family. Olivia is a 3-year-old neighbor of AGC West TN member Ryan Wallace, and is fighting leukemia at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The YCF leadership decided to donate proceeds from the Crawfish Boil to St. Jude in honor of Olivia and will also participate in other fundraising events for St. Jude later in the year!
