AGC of Tennessee would not be the organization it is without our amazing members.  Through member support and participation, AGC of Tennessee continues to build a brighter future for contractors and their partners in Tennessee.  Each month we will be spotlighting members who eximplify what it means to be an AGC member.  We hope you will check back and learn more about our spotlight companies each month.

Meet our August Spotlight Members

The Christman Company is a long-time general contractor member in our Knoxville Region and recent Build Knoxville Awards winner, winning the Institutional Award for The Tennessee Tech University Lab.  Christman has always been very involved in AGC and you can find their employees at almost all local events, and the statewide convention.  They currently have two members on the AGC of Tennessee - Knoxville Region Board of Directors, including current President, Marty Gibbs.  Not only do they send students to AGC training classes, but Christman employee Butch Hale teaches STP classes for the Knoxville region.  Click here to visit Christman's webpage and learn more about this great member.

Nickell Company, LLC is a subcontractor member in our Middle Tennessee region.  Nickell Company has won several awards at the Middle Tennessee Region Build Tennessee Awards, including the 2019 Subcontractor of the Year Award and the 2022 Award of Excellence “Best Concrete & Asphalt Work” recognizing their outstanding work.  Not only is Nickell Company a very involved AGC member but Kim Willis, head of Business Development, sits on the AGC of Tennessee Board, the AGC of Tennessee – Middle Tennessee Region Board, and the AGC of America Specialty Contractors Steering Committee.  Learn more about this great member here.

All of our members have special talents, but long-time supplier/service provider member Rinker Materials (formerly Forterra Pipe & Precast)  goes above and beyond in sharing talents with fellow members of our West TN Region. Not only does Rinker serve as Catering Sponsor for our U of M Tailgate Party and for the Sporting Clays Tournament each year, two Rinker employees—Billy Wallin and Joey Sensabaugh—actually do the cooking for the events, and our great attendance has to be attributed in part to their famous fried catfish, grilled burgers and pork tenderloin! You’ll also find Rinker employees attending luncheons and other events throughout the year.  In addition, Rinker (Forterra Pipe & Precast) is the West Tennessee Region Associate of the Year winner for 2020.  Thank you to Rinker for your service and commitment to AGC.  To learn more about Rinker click here.
