Sandestin Hilton - October 12-15, 2011

It is AGC Convention Time Again! This October we return to the Hilton in Sandestin. Be sure to mark your calendar today!

This year marks our return to the beach after spending the last two years in Nashville and it is going to be a great year!  We already have 63 companies with registered attendees!  With 104 rooms already spoken for, we increased our room block to our maximum of 105 rooms.  If you are planning to attend, especially if you did not already let us know that you will be using a room, register now!  Want to look over the agenda first?  View it here!

In addition to our educational offerings, we will be bringing back our usual afternoon activities this year: golf, tennis, and fishing.  Sandestin offers four championship golf courses sure to challenge the most talented of golfers.  In fact, Golf magazine ranks Sandestin as one of the 75 best golf resorts in the nation.  As in past years, Tennis will be played at Hidden Dunes. If you prefer, the beautiful aquamarine waters of the Gulf of Mexico offer some of the best fishing along the Gulf coast. Before the Destin area was a major tourist destination, it was first a fishing village that brought anglers from far and wide to take advantage of some of the best sport fishing anywhere. There will also be one of our newest favorites, the sandcastle building contest!  Be sure and fill out an activity registration form if you want to participate in any of these activities.

Thursday night we will be having our traditional dinner at the Ocean Club, www.theoceanclubdestin.com   The Ocean Club is home to the finest seafood on the gulf coast and uses only the freshest cuts of fish and steak and the finest ingredients.  In addition to great food and an extensive wine list, the Ocean Club also provides live music and great nightlife.  For families with children (to date we have 30 children!), we will be offering babysitting services at the hotel during dinner.  Please let us know if you will be using babysitting by filling out our babysitting form.

We hope you will join us this year for the convention.  The convention is a great opportunity to bring your family along for a much needed fall getaway to one of the best convention venues in the Southeast. Beyond the business sessions of the convention, there are recreation and relaxation activities that fit the interests and preferences of just about anyone.  It is also a good opportunity to take a break from the rigors of doing business every day to network with colleagues from across the state, learn about the newest product and services updates from vendors, catch up on the latest news from industry professionals and learn more about the activities of your association.
